2、2005年世界现代化指数
2005年，美国等28个国家进入第二次现代化，约占国家样本数的21%，比2004年提高3个百分点；有34个国家全面完成第一次现代化，48个国家基本实现第一次现代化，已经完成和基本实现第一次现代化的国家约占国家样本的63%，比2004年提高9个百分点。
2005年，瑞典等20个国家属于发达国家，意大利等25个国家属于中等发达国家，中国等39个国家属于初等发达国家，印度等47个国家属于欠发达国家。
2004年，第二次现代化指数排名世界前10名的国家是：美国、瑞典、丹麦、日本、挪威、芬兰、澳大利亚、瑞士、荷兰和德国。

2. World Modernization Indexes in 2005
In 2005, 28 countries including the US began their second modernization, about 21% of the total of country samples, rising by 3% compared with 2004; 34 countries accomplished the first modernization, 48 countries basically fulfilled the first modernization, and the countries that have already achieved and basically achieved the first modernization took up about 63% of the total country samples, rising by 9% compared with 2004.
In 2005, 20 countries including Sweden were developed countries; 25 countries like Italy were medium developed countries; 39 countries like China were primary developed countries; 47 countries including India were underdeveloped countries.
In 2004, the countries that ranked top 10 for the 2nd modernization indexes were: the US, Sweden, Denmark, Japan, Norway, Finland, Australia, Switzerland, Netherland and Germany.
