m E L PIPES, FITTINGS, AND SPECIAIS General. The Contractor s h a l l , i f so i n s t r u c t e d , make a v a i l a b l e to the Etiyinrer the m . l k c r ' s c : e r t i f i . r a t r s covcring the chemical a n a l y s i s and physical p r o p e r t i e s of the steel used i n the manufact-.ure of pipes and specials, and s h a l l provide w r i t t e n confirmation t h a t welding has been c a r r i e d out by coded welders. Pipes of Nominal Bore up to 150 mm. Unless otherwise scheduled or required i n terms of the p r o j e c t s p e c i f i c a t i o n , steel pipes and f i t t i n g s of nominal bore up to 150 mm s h a l l be of medium class, s h a l l be screwed, and s h a l l comply with the applicable requirements of SABS 62. Pipes of Womirial Bore over 150 mn. Steel pipes of nominal bore over 150 mm s h a l l comply with the applicable requirements of SABS 719 appropriate to the grade o f p i p e scheduled or s p e c i f i e d i n the p r o j e c t s p e c i f i c a t i o n and, i n addition, a) the minimum w a l l thickness s h a l l be 4 mm f o r pipes of nominal outside diameter not exceeding 400 min. and 5 mm f o r pipes of nominal outside diamet-er exceeding 400 mm but not exceeding 500 mm: b) the pipes s h a l l be plain ended and of one fixed length between 3 ni and 18 m; and c) the h e i g h t o f inner weld reinforcement and of upset metal on the i n n e r s u r f a c e s h a l l not exceed 1 mm. F i t t i n g s and Specials. Steel pipe f i t t i n g s and s p e c i a l s of nominal bore l a r g e r than 150 mm s h a l l be fabricated i n accordance with BS 534 from pipe complying with the requirements given i n 3.4.3. In addition, all pipe s p e c i a l s and f i t t i n g s s h a l l be f r e e of weld s p a t t e r and all sharp corners and edges s h a l l be ground smooth and round before p a i n t i n g . A l l shop weldiny of slip-on and other couplings f o r steel pipes and s p e c i a l s s h a l l b e c a r r i e d out by welders who are competent i n terms of the procedure approval test of AP1 1104, except where t h e p r o j e c t s p e c i f i c a t i o n makes provision f o r another competence test to be agreed between the Engineer and the Contractor. -I. --- CONCRETE PRESSURE PIPES. Unless otherwise scheduled, concrete pressure pipes s h a l l comply with the requirements of SABS 676 appropriate to the pressure class s t a t e d i n the schedule and s h a l l have s p i g o t and socket ends with rubber r i n g j o i n t s or other approved f l e x i b l e j o i n t s . PRESTRESSED CONCRETE PIPES. Prestressed concrete pipes s h a l l comply with the requirements of S A W 975 and t h e nominal i n t e r n a l diameter, the nominal e f f e c t i v e length, the hydraulic test pressure, and the proof load s h a l l be as s t a t e d i n t h e p r o j e c t s p e c i f i c a t i o n . The Contractor s h a l l supply the information d e t a i l e d in Appendix E: to SABS 975 when so requested by the Engineer. Metal couplings of all types and the means used f o r d i s t r i b u t i n g coupling stresses to the concrete s h a l l be capable of withstanding a l l stresses caused by proper t i g h t e n i n g o f t h e b o l t s without any sign of cracking or other damage. OTHER TYPES OF PTPES _uPV_C P_ip_es._ comply with the relevant requirements of SABS 966. Polyethylene Pipes. SABS 533. JOINTING MATERIALS -AC -P ipes. with t h e relevant requirements of BS 486. s h a l l be jointed to valves with standard CI short collar detachable couplinqs. uPVC pipes and f i t t i n g s s h a l l be f i t t e d with s p i g o t and socket rubber ring j o i n t s and s h a l l Polyethylene pipes and f i t t i n g s 'shall comply with the relevant requirements of AC pipes s h a l l be jointed to each other by means of AC 3-ring sleeve-type couplings complying Unless otherwise scheduled or shown on the drawings, AC pipes - - Flexible Couplings Except where special couplings are scheduled, f l e x i b l e couplings f o r plain-ended steel pipe s h a l l be of -___ .~ _ _ the slip-on type with c e n t r e r e g i s t e r complying with the relevant requirements of Bs 534. A coupling s h a l l be able to withstand without any sign of f a i l u r e a hydrostatic test pressure of t w i c e the working pressure s p e c i f i e d f o r t h e pipe f o r which the coupling is required. Coupling flanges s h a l l be capable of withstanding without any sign of damage all stresses caused by proper tightening of t h e b o l t s . Rubber rings s h a l l comply with the relevant requirements of SABS 974 : P a r t I and s h a l l have a hardness Flanges a n d c c e s s o r i e s _ . Each flanged pipe and f i t t i n g s h a l l be supplied complete with one set of b o l t s and nuts and one i n s e r t i o n p i e c e o f the appropriate diameter and made of a material t h a t is s u i t a b l e f o r the maximum test pressure. The d r i l l i n g of steel and CI flanges s h a l l conform to the requirements of SARS 1123 or BS 4504 : P a r t 1, as a p p l i c a b l e , a p p r o p r i a t e to t h e class of pipe specified, except t h a t a) i n the case of flanyes for hydrant and air valve matching tees, the d r i l l i n g s h a l l conform to the d r i l l i n g of the valve s u p p l i e d , and b) i n the case of C1 flanges, where M27 and M33 b o l t s are s p e c i f i e d i n BS 4504 : P a r t 1, M24 and M30 b o l t s respectively s h a l l be used as s p e c i f i e d i n SARS 1123. Loose Flanges. Loose flanges f o r welding onto steel pipes on S i t e s h a l l be manufactured from the same steel as is s p e c i f i e d f o r the pipes and s h a l l be i n accordance with SABS 1123 (see also 3 . 4 . 3 ) . Any i t e m of pipework t h a t is found to have flanges t h a t are i n c o r r e c t l y d r i l l e d w i l l be rejected. Reaming of b o l t holes to oversize dimensions i n order to make a part.icular piece f i t w i l l not be permitted. Bolts and nuts s h a l l comply with the relevant requirements of SABS 135 or SABS 136, a s s p e c i f i e d i n the p r o j e c t s p e c i f i c a t i o n . The length of each b o l t s h a l l be such t h a t , a f t e r the b o l t has been tightened, the end of the b o l t is flush with t h e o u t s i d e of the nut or p r o j e c t s above t h e n u t by not more than t w o f u l l threads. *got Specials. Each spigoted special s h a l l be supplied with one sleeve coupling (or such other tyj>e of coupling as is shown i n the drawings) to s u i t t h e p a r t i c u l a r pipe with which the special is to mate. The coupling s h a l l f i t t h e l a r g e r end of t h e b a r r e l i n the case of a reducer. Spigot and Socket Pipes. Spigot and socket pipes s h a l l be provided with rubber or neoprene s e a l i n g r i n g s for forming f l e x i b l e couplings or, where so required i n terms of t h e p r o j e c t s p e c i f i c a t i o n , caulking materials s h a l l be provided. of 66-75 IRHD.原件下载:
